Short, because we don’t collect much
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics and has no tracking. The only personal information it handles is what you choose to send us through the contact form.
Who we are
Wigan Rovers FC is an amateur football club playing at St James’ Park, Poolstock Lane, Wigan. The club is responsible for any information you send through this site. To contact us about your information, use the contact form.
What we collect, and why
- Contact form. Your name, email address, phone number if you give one, and your message. It is emailed to the club through Resend, the service that delivers the message, and handled in the club’s mailbox. We use it to reply to you and, if you join, play, volunteer or sponsor, to arrange that, because we have a legitimate interest in answering you. Nothing is stored on the website.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard technical information when a page is requested, such as your IP address and browser type, to keep the site secure and running. Logs are held briefly and not used to identify you.
- Calendar feeds. If you subscribe to the fixtures calendar, your calendar app fetches a file from this site. We receive nothing about you from it.
Third parties
- Hosting and email. The site is hosted by Vercel and form messages are delivered by Resend. Both are US companies, so your details may be processed in the United States, under the safeguards UK law approves for international transfers.
- The map on the contact page only loads when you tap it. Until then, nothing is requested from Google. Once loaded, Google’s own privacy policy applies.
- Fixtures, results and tables come from the Mid Lancashire Football League and the FA’s Full-Time system. They are fetched by our server, not by your browser, so those sites never see your visit.
- Social links take you to X, Instagram and Facebook, where their policies apply.
What we don’t do
- No cookies are set by this site.
- No analytics, advertising or social media tracking scripts are used.
- We never sell or share your details.
How long we keep it
Messages are kept in the club’s mailbox for as long as needed to deal with them, and for up to a season afterwards in case you come back to us.
Your rights, and complaints
You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Use the contact form and we will reply within a month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the club through the contact form. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and tell you the outcome. You can also complain to the Information Commission, the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
